History of Chapainawabganj
Site of Gaur, the medieval capital of the independent Bengal Sultanate from the 14th to 16th centuries, whose ruins straddle the India-Bangladesh border here. The Choto Sona Mosque was built in the early 16th century under Sultan Hussain Shah.
