History of Kushtia
Home to the mystic-poet Lalon Shah (Lalon Fakir), whose shrine and Baul philosophy remain deeply influential. Rabindranath Tagore managed his family's zamindari estate from the Shilaidaha Kuthibari here, writing much of his early poetry on the Padma.
