History
Jaflong has been a stone-collection zone on the Piyain river since colonial times, where boulders rolled down from the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya are gathered by local labourers. Tourism grew from the 1990s around the scenic "zero point" view of the hills and border waterfalls just across the frontier.
