The best window for Nilgiri & Chimbuk is Jul – Feb. November to February is the easiest season for travel across Bangladesh generally - cool and dry - while the monsoon between June and September is when the haors, waterfalls and hills are at their most dramatic.
How to reach: Bus from Dhaka to Bandarban town (about 7–8 hours), then a hired jeep or chander gari along the Bandarban–Thanchi road (1.5–2 hours) to reach Chimbuk and Nilgiri.

History
Chimbuk became a road-trip landmark once the Bandarban–Thanchi road was paved through the hills, while Nilgiri was later developed as an army-run resort above the cloud line. Together they opened this stretch of the Chittagong Hill Tracts to sunrise-seekers from the 2000s onward.
