History
American International University-Bangladesh was established in 1994, adopting an American-style credit and curriculum system unusually early among Bangladeshi private universities. It grew rapidly through the 1990s and 2000s into one of the largest private universities in the country by enrolment. It has developed a particularly strong computer science and engineering programme.
