History
The Bangladesh University of Textiles was established in 2010, upgraded from the earlier College of Textile Technology, to give the country's largest export industry a dedicated public university. It consolidated textile education that had previously been spread across several diploma- and degree-awarding textile colleges under the National University. It now serves as the main pipeline of textile engineers and technologists for Bangladesh's garment and textile manufacturing sector.
