History
Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University was established in 2002 in Tangail, named after the Bangladeshi peasant leader and politician Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani. It was set up to extend science and technology education to central Bangladesh outside the Dhaka-Chattogram corridor. It has grown from a small founding cohort into a broader technical university with computer science, engineering and agriculture-adjacent programmes.
