History
Khulna University of Engineering & Technology began life as Khulna Engineering College in 1967 and became a full university in 2003, one of the three original regional engineering colleges of former East Pakistan elevated to independent status. It has built a strong reputation particularly in computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering. Its graduates are heavily represented in south-western Bangladesh's industrial and power sectors.

KUET's campus lies on the bank of the Rupsha river in Khulna, combining older engineering-college buildings from the 1960s with newer laboratories and student halls.
